International Day of Disabled People

Possible All Along was launched on 3rd December 2020. This date is International Day of Disabled People, which is celebrated annually around the world.
The United Nations agreed to observe this international day in 1992. It aims to promote the rights and well-being of disabled people in all areas of society, and to increase awareness of the situation of disabled people in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
Disabled people and disability organisations in Leeds have organised events for International Day of Disabled People almost every year since it began. In 2020 Volition, the third sector disability and mental health network, is coordinating the programme, supported by the William Merritt Disabled Living Centre. The local theme is #LeedsForAll.
We’re pleased to be part of this programme of events. We hope that disabled people, carers and others, who might not have come to an exhibition in an art gallery, will find out about and visit this online exhibition.
